What's in a name?

Alan Vincent Hadley Logue (“Alan” or “Little Al”) was a natural athlete. He loved sports of every kind, including golf. Little Al was well known for his love of people – sharing a laugh and bringing light to all those around him. He could often be seen puttering around Waskesiu in his van - also nicknamed ‘Little Al’ - seeking out fun and new adventures around every corner.

Alan’s journey of 22 years took an unexpected turn when he was diagnosed, in May of 2011, with Leukemia. His courage and optimism never left him as he faced treatment and hospitalization, though his time in this life came to an end on February 10, 2012.

In honour of Alan’s incredible spirit, his love of all physical activity, and his passion for people, the Waskesiu Recreation Association was proud to name our mini golf course  “Little AL’s Mini Golf” when it opened in July of 2018.

Many thanks to the Waskesiu Foundation, the Logue family, and the incredible supporters of the “Alan Vincent Hadley Logue Memorial Golf Tournament” for their generosity and dedication to the Waskesiu community.
