DETOUR - Please be aware there is a detour around the Waskesiu townsite. Due to overland flooding at the 4-way stop, the intersection is closed and a detour has been set up until further notice. Traffic can access the townsite via the Narrows cut-across or Ajawaan roads.(Posted Jan. 27/2018)

Have you tried ice fishing on Waskesiu Lake? The ice fishing shack is a quick walk directly out front of the main beach.
Fishing Licences are required and may be purchased at the Visitor Information Center. Fishing poles and equipment are available for loan from the Hawood Inn.
