For the first time, the Community Council has established a Special Events Committee.
Our mission is to create and maintain a strong sense of community through annual events, concerts, and other social activities. Nancy Wood Archer is heading up the committee for 2005/06. Currently we are working on a community effort to "Celebrate Saskatchewan".
An itinerary of the weekend's events has been established, grants have been applied for, bands have been booked and a positive working relationship with Parks Canada to assist with these events has been forged.
At this point we ask that anyone willing to volunteer for this or any other event during the summer to please let us know. Any ideas for community events are welcomed. Volunteer help is needed in organizing the events as well as hands on once the event dates approach. If corporate or personal funding are available to help sponsor these events, any donations would be greatly appreciated.
