New Improvements in Prince Albert National Park

In Prince Albert National Park, spring is emerging. The merlins are setting up their territories and the bull elk have shed their antlers. Maybe you’re pondering a trip to the park. When you visit us this summer, you can look forward to discovering some improvements to our services and facilities. Those fees that you pay for the services you enjoy are reinvested in the park to enhance the value you receive as a visitor.

This spring, boaters will appreciate new boat ramps at the Waskesiu Lake Marina. Accessing Waskesiu Lake will be much easier for you, even as water levels fluctuate. Campers staying at Beaver Glen will notice the repairs to campsites and roads too. Hikers will effortlessly glide along the new boardwalk on Boundary Bog trail. Your children can try out the new playground equipment at the main beach. There are even new picnic tables and bike racks. If your visit should take you to the backcountry around Kingsmere Lake, new trail signage will lead you in the right direction. You may find yourself basking in some quality contemplation time in one of the new pristine privies, and when it comes time to stash your pantry, a new bear cache ladder will aid your safe climb. New maintenance equipment as well, is going to be used to improve the quality of our trail grooming, beach and campsite cleanup, and our cross-country ski trail grooming.

New fees collected will continue to be reinvested to provide you with quality visitor experiences. We invite visitors to fill out a comment card at any park kiosk to let us know what you think about the improvements. We want to hear what you like about the reinvestment and where you would like to see your fees reinvested in the future.
