Murray Peterson

Title: Manager of Resource Conservation

Interests: I like to be active - hiking, canoeing, fly fishing.

Residence: I am a resident of Waskesiu Lake. I arrived in Waskesiu Lake in February 2004, from Revelstoke, BC.

Family: My spouse is Alena Peterson and we have two sons, Nils in University of Alberta,
and Marcus in Mount Royal College, Calgary.

First impressions of Waskesiu: Very quiet community when I moved in, but stirs to life in May. I am very impressed with the feeling of a community here.

Background: In Revelstoke I held the position of Fire and Vegetation Specialist for
Mount Revelstoke and Glacier National Parks. I have been employed with Parks Canada for 26 years.

Priorities In PANP: I will be working in PANP for the forseeable future. My goal is to
maintain the Resource Conservation function as a highly motivated, professional organization leading to achieving the objectives of the Parks Canada Agency and PANP.

The Waskesiu Community Council is democratically elected to represent your views to Parks Canada. We assist Prince Albert National Park in establishing practices for the operation of Waskesiu. Our council operates under the terms of a Memorandum Of Understanding outlining responsibilities to you and to Parks Canada.
