Sanctuary Lake Fire Tower Cupola

The last fire tower to be removed from the Park was located at Sanctuary Lake. The cupola was situated on top of an 80 foot tower. Fire wardens spent two week shifts monitoring forest fires. They lived in a cabin near the base of the tower.

A fun, creative program is offered on Friday afternoons for children ages 6 & up, at the cupola, to learn about duties of the fire fighters, protection of the boreal forest and fire prevention.  This is a hands-on activity.
