The Lobstick Golf Club remains one of the most popular golf courses in northern Saskatchewan. Designed by the legendary Stanley Thompson and built in the 1930's, it incorporates all of the classic Thompson trademarks, the foremost of which is the use of the natural landscape. Stanley Thompson is regarded as one of the greatest course designers to have ever lived. He is responsible for a host of master-pieces, including Banaff, Royal St. Georges, Hamilton, Capilano and Jasper. Waskesiu's golf course moves elegantly through the forest, each hole fitting dynamically into its surroundings. By today's standards, the course is relatively short -- even if you stretched the championship tees it would be tough to exceed 6300 yards. But don't let the distance fool you! What it lacks in length, it easily makes up for in precision. The tight, tree-lined fairways also offer some dramatic contours that will require creativity and imagination to hit the target with your approach.

In addition to the golf challenge, Waskesiu offers spectacular scenery in a very peaceful and natural environment. On this course, you will truly experience golf in one of its most natural and enjoyable settings. Just remember that the local Elk population always have the right to play through!
