Purpose of the museum
Mission Statement
The Waskesiu Heritage Museum celebrates Saskatchewan centennial by honoring the cultural and historical past of Prince Alberta National Park. The museum features treasures, artifacts, memorabilia and pictures depicting the way of life since the park’s inception. These items are donated by the people who were instrumental in developing the Waskesiu community and who continue to enjoy Prince Albert National Park today.
Preserving the history of Prince Albert National park enables newcomers, young people who are now experiencing life in the Waskesiu Community and visitors from all walks of life from all over the world to gain an understanding and appreciation of the past.
Just as Prince Albert National Park is a meeting place, a transition zone between parkland and the boreal forest, the Waskesiu Heritage Museum is a meeting place for residents and visitors to Waskesiu.
