Our Objects
The objects of the Cottage Owners' Association
are:
a) To work with officials
of Prince Albert National Park, the Waskesiu Community Council
and with cottage owners in relation to matters of common interest
to Waskesiu cottage owners, including matters pertaining to
the occupancy, use, rental, maintenance, leasing and/or improvement
of such cottages and/or the areas in Prince Albert National
Park where cottages are located;
b) To promote better understanding
and co-operation among cottage owners and other users of Prince
Albert National Park;
c) To provide a forum for
the discussion and dissemination of information on matters of
interest to cottage owners; and
d) To do such other things
as may be incidental or conducive to the attainment of such
objectives, and the exercise of the powers of our Association.
Together with many other organizations
(including the Waskesiu Community Council, the Waskesiu Cabin
Owners' Association, the Save our Spruce Committee ("SOS")
and Concerned Park Supporters ("CPS")), the Cottage
Owners' Association has for many years been actively addressing
a variety of issues facing our membership, the community of
Waskesiu and Prince Albert National Park.
Some of those issues include
the deterioration of our Park's infrastructure, helping to shape
a Vegetation Management Plan for our community, undertaking
rent and property tax negotiations with Parks Canada Agency,
taking steps to actively combat the Spruce Bud Worm infestation,
trying to ensure that lake levels are maintained and that access
to our lakes and other areas of the Park continues to be available
for the general public.
