Waskesiu Community Council has passed the following resolutions:


Motion 1:
Be it resolved that, in the spirit of shared decision making, the Waskesiu Community Council will work collaboratively with Parks Canada administration and community stakeholders to develop an effective and affordable vegetation management plan for Waskesiu. Unanimous (7-0)

Motion2:
Be it resolved that the Waskesiu Community Council, as representatives of various stakeholder groups, interpret 3.2.4 in National Parks policy to allow for the aerialspraying of BtK and therefore urges Parks Canada to implement an effective spraying program by the spring of 2003 and in subsequent years, as necessary. (6-1)

The Waskesiu council meet on Friday Sept 20th and passed the above resolutions. In the wake of the passed resolutions, the Cabin owners association elected to give a cash donation to the SOS group to help in its fight to save The Evergreens of Waskesiu. The SOS has now received money from the golf course, cottage association and private individuals . The accumulated funds will be used in the march to Ottawa at the political level this fall.
