I certainly
agree with Parks Canada that we must initiate a Vegetation Management
Plan but within every Vegetation Management Plan there is also
a Pest Management Control Plan.

My name
is Herve Langlois. I have been a cabin owner and summer resident
of Waskesiu since 1984 and have a certain appreciation of the
value of this Park, aptly described as Saskatchewan's Summer
Playground, and Waskesiu to this province's people. Frankly,
I can think of many things I would rather be doing today. I
take no pleasure in having to come here to present a brief on
a topic that, it would seem, requires no briefs but only the
application of a good dose of common sense

I want
to begin today by acknowledging Anne Morin's work in moving
as quickly as she has in setting up this process. I have only
10 minutes and do not want to use much of it to reiterate the
past however I will comment that it provides great comfort to
know that Anne has made a three year commitment to Waskesiu,
the "Supt de jour syndrome" that has faced this Park
is fundamental to some of the difficulties that we have been
experiencing. I would encourage the Superintendent to hang in
with us as we work our way through this.
I want
to assure the Superintendent and her staff that I speak with
one purpose today and that is to add my thoughts and my voice
in support of their pursuit of the protection of this park specifically
the townsite area.

Thank you for the opportunity
to present the concerns and feelings from the Lobstick Golf
Course. Our golf course has been an integral component of the
Waskesiu community since the course was built in 1935-36. Many
would say we are part of the natural configuration of the park.
The golf course has been the
scene of enjoyment for countless numbers of tourists and local
people alike.
