In 2003, the Waskesiu Community Council, in collaboration with Parks Canada, developed a Community Vegetation Management Strategy. One of the recommendations of the strategy was to hold an Annual Arbor Day - a celebration where people from the community work together to plant native trees representative of the surrounding boreal forest.
Last year, in commemoration of Prince Albert National Park's 75 th Anniversary, 75 trees were planted in the townsite. Thanks to volunteers who helped take care of the new trees!
Join us on Sunday, September 5. Your efforts will help ensure future generations can continue to enjoy the beauty of Waskesiu.
